Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 13 December, 2025
1. Our Commitment
Shining Hope is committed to making our website accessible to all visitors, including people with disabilities. We recognise that accessibility is an ongoing journey and we are taking concrete steps to improve the experience for everyone.
2. Current Status
We have not yet completed a formal accessibility audit or testing of the site.
Because of this, we cannot guarantee that every page currently meets the WCAG 2.1 AA standards. However, we are actively planning a comprehensive review.
3. How to Reach Us
If you experience any difficulty using our website, please let us know so we can address it as quickly as possible.
Email: accessibility@shininghope.org
Phone: (08) 1234 5678 (Mon–Fri, 9 am–5 pm WA time)
When you contact us, please include:
-
The page URL where the problem occurs.
-
A brief description of the issue.
-
The assistive technology you are using (screen reader, magnifier, etc.) – optional but helpful.
We will aim to respond within 5 business days.
4. Legal Context (Australia)
Under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) and the Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) guidelines, organisations that provide services to the public—including websites—must make “reasonable adjustments” for people with disabilities. Publishing this statement, even before testing, demonstrates that we are aware of our obligations and are taking steps toward compliance.
